Friday's Hike
El Camino Del Rey
El Caminito del Rey (English: The King's little pathway) is a walkway or via ferrata, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Álora in the district of Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to Camino del Rey.
The walkway has now gone many years without maintenance, and is in a highly deteriorated and dangerous state. It is 3 ft wide, and is over 700 feet (200 m) above the river. Nearly all of the path has no handrail. Some parts of the walkway have completely collapsed and have been replaced by a beam and a metallic wire on the wall. Many people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years. After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway. The regional government of Andalusia budgeted in 2006 for a restoration plan estimated at € 7 million

Hacking the Planet

Made a friend in one of my hostels here in England who knows a lot about computers. For a week or two everyday I'd sit there working, and he'd sit there stealing peoples passwords, getting into the hostels booking system where he could see everyones information, rearrange reservations, and take stored credit card numbers (he didnt, but he could have), or learning how to do new stuff. He found 1 password for facebook which we found funny, "ILoveMen". We logged into the account, checked out the profile pic, then looked around the room and found the guy sitting right behind us.

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/bfs/1690687668.html
Instant Burger® $700.00 each
Burgers, Hot Dogs, Sausage Patties, Chicken Fillets - in 25 Seconds
The Fastest Fast Food System. Make sandwiches as fast as you can prep the buns! No cooking oils needed. Normally no hood or venting needed (local codes prevail). No cooking skills needed cooks automatically. Cooks out calorie laden fat but retains the delicious natural juices.
Instant Burger® - FAQ Before purchasing a grill or other or other conventional cooking equipment, you should consider these important points.
Can I cook hamburgers without a grill? YES! The Instant Burger cooks with a "Direct Energy Transfer" system. No grill is necessary and cooks burgers in 25 seconds.
"Direct Energy Transfer" What is that? The Greatest innovation since the hamburger! It transfers the energy directly through the meat, cooking the meat to over 180°. The cooking process takes place inside the meat.
What are the installation costs? None! The Instant Burger is portable and takes only 23" x 16" of counter space on a 30 amp dedicated circuit.
With no installation costs do I need a venting system or expensive hood? NO! The cooking plates do not get over 200° F. Therefore, no grease is burned and no vapors or smoke is emitted into the air. Please check your local codes.
Do I need to hire a cook or someone with cooking skills? NO! The Instant Burger automatically cooks each item and will not burn the meat. This eliminates human error and wasted time because your employee can do other things during the cooking process.
Can the Instant Burger cook other entrees? YES! Chicken filets, Cajun flavored chicken filet, hamburger steak, fresh ground pork steaks, turkey patties, hot dogs, and sausages to name a few. Enhance your menu with delicious and healthy entrees all on the Instant Burger!

Oops

So I'm sitting in the lounge at my hostel in Munich this afternoon at about 4pm, thinking about how retarded I am from the alcohol last night, when an actual retarded person walks in.

Lowrider
My first car ever was a 1985 Chrysler Lebaron. I drove it for over 3 years and loved it; this is what life used to be like.

Giant Chinese Spider

This bad boy sent my Danish friend running away screaming like a girl. A young Chinese boy came out with a broom and a can of poison, sprayed the thing while beating it with the broom for about 5-10 seconds. It ran down the wall, across the hall and almost made it to the stairs before the it died.

Tunnel From Russia to USA?

Plan for a tunnel connection under the Bering Strait between Siberia and Alaska
I had no idea we were so close to Russia, 60 miles!!! I wonder if they'll loosen visa requirements for Americans travelling to Russia if this happens.

Turkish Haircut

My first Turkish Haircut back in 2008
My cousin is getting married Friday, so I got a fresh hair cut on Tuesday. Using hand signals (I can't speak to anyone) I worked out the following:
The last time I got my haircut in Turkey Casey Wedding convinced the guy to give me a mullet. This time I walked in with a euro-mullet and walked out sin mullet.
Working the System

Today I traded 1 delayed flight from Washington D.C. to JFK which probably never left due to bad weather (all other flights to NYC were cancelled already) for a refund and free round trip ticket anywhere in the continental US, then hopped on a $25 bus, where I am now using the free wifi and power outlets. I'll arrive in Brooklyn about 4 hours later than originally scheduled.

Stray Dogs Roam Roman Bath Ruins

Today is my second to last day in Ankara, and the weather was decent, which meant it was time to finish my sight seeing.
Pictured below is the Ruins of an old Roman Bath, where I stumbled upon a pack of stray dog puppies amongst some ancient Roman tomb stones. The mother barked at me and ran away, then I noticed the puppies hidden between the cracks. A few puppies came out to say hello, and I figured the Mom was coming back with her homies, but instead she just hung out and barked with the rest of the adult strays in front of what I later found out is a whore house.

Lightning Storm

There was a cool lightning storm last night here in Ankara. I've always wanted to get a sweet picture of lightning, and I almost pulled it off last night. You can see the sky is lit and theres a bit of the lightning bolt in the top right corner. Then there was a 4.1 earthquake centered in Ankara a few hours later.
